To Kill Two Rims With One Birdman

Chris “Birdman” Andersen of the Miami Heat has never really been known for his acrobatic dunks but he certainly made a splash on Tuesday night. Andersen was able to soar for back-to-back tip slams in a his team’s victory over the Boston Celtics.

Note: Andersen did in fact enter the NBA’s Slam Dunk Contest in 2005, but it didn’t really go to plan.

The second dunk in particular was simply sensational. A reverse, two-handed tip jam off a missed layup by Mario Chalmers. The bench took a half second longer than usual to rise to their feet too, seemingly as shocked as we were to see the Birdman fly in such an unfamiliar pattern.
