Smoke ‘Em – November 30, 2012
As December approaches, we are kicking off a new (responsible) gambling-inspired segment called “Smoke ‘Em”.
In this segment, Ryan and Paul will be surveying each day’s NBA games and placing a bet (single or multi) on the day’s action. Each bet will be listed here at hoopdiary.com before the first tip-off, including odds provided by sportsbet.com.au.
Both Ryan and Paul will start with a balance of $300.00 and results will be collated over the course of each NBA month. As well as counting respective balance growth, the loser each month will also need to purchase the winner a fine cigar.
Paul – Denver to beat Golden State (H) by 1-10 points. (@$2.72)
Golden State will rely too heavily today on the offensive output of Stephen Curry, David Lee and Klay Thompson. Denver’s Andre Iguodala should lock down a slumping Thompson, leaving the offensive responsibility to Lee and Curry. I think the Denver frontline can contain Lee and the Warriors will struggle to reach 80 points. Denver have been playing better lately than their record suggests and I think a gritty road win in Oakland is in their immediate future.
Ryan – Golden State (H) to beat Denver by 1-10 points. (@$2.80)
With Golden State looking surprisingly strong, Klay Thompson most likely physically unable to continue to miss shots at the rate he has and Denver playing so goddamn awful, the deciding factor will be the fantastic Golden State crowd.
Both on 0-0
Both have a balance of $295.00 after first bet placed.
