Smoke ‘Em – December 1, 2012

Welcome to the second day of Smoke ‘Em, where Paul and Ryan try to figure out who can pick more accurately from the days slate of NBA games. Yesterday saw Paul lose horribly, as the Golden State Warriors easily defeated the Nuggets by a massively convincing one point.

Yesterday’s results

Ryan – $5.00 on for a $14 win. Balance = $309.00

Paul – $5.00 on for a loss. Balance = $295.00

Today’s Picks

Paul – Memphis (H) to beat Detroit by 11+ points. (@$1.82)
The front line of the Grizzlies will positively destroy Detroit. While I think Pistons rookie Brandon Knight will have a standout game on Conley, it won’t be enough to pose any threat to the Griz. I’d expect a 20/10 game from both Gasol and Randolph in a very comfortable victory to the Bears. (note: all bets are off if Charlie Villueneva has a super rare big night.)

Ryan – Lakers (H) to beat Denver by 1-10 points. (@$2.43)
Wow, only one loss down, and you are already giving yourself out clauses. This is gonna get awkward. I can smell my victory cigar already. The safe bet for tomorrow is the Knicks to beat the lowly Wizards by any margin (every combination of NYK margin win is paying a massive $1.01). For my pick, I’ll select Denver to lose again on their road trip, this time to the struggling Lakers by a small margin.

Current Standings
Ryan 1-0 (Balance $304.00)
Paul 0-1 (Balance $290.00)
