Oklahoma City still have a way to go to climb back into this series, but they did everything required of them in Game 3 to ensure their fans have some reason to hope they can. The Thunder snapped the Spur’s 20 game win streak with a cruisy 20 point victory predicated by tough defense and some fantastic offense from a surprising source: Thabo Sefolosha chipped in a handy 19 points while being the perimeter pest the Thunder so need him to be.
The San Antonio coaching staff will talk themselves hoarse in the film session as there wasn’t a single Spur’s player who played a consistent game as the Thunder knocked the Spurs out of their game-plan with aggressive defense and crisp offense, answering all the questions raised in the first two games in the process. Through the first two games in Texas the Thunder struggled to execute offensively and they definitely failed to stop penetration which lead to layups or kick-outs to wide open wing shooters. That didn’t happen in game three and the result was markedly different.
No the only question remains is, can the Thunder repeat this three more times?
