Giannis Antetokounmpo has made a (very) early statement over the first three games that he is to be considered in the MVP race this season. In his latest performance, the “Greek Freak” put on a dazzling show against the visiting Portland Trailblazers, scoring 44 points and making some amazing plays at the end of the game to save the win for his Milwaukee Bucks. It wasn’t all rosy towards the end of this contest for Giannis though, as he missed two free throws late in the fourth quarter to keep Portland around.
But like all champions do, he bounced back… and in a BIG way.

Then to make things even worse for Portland and better for every other fan of basketball, Giannis took it up another notch on the following play, snuffing out Portland’s chances for good.
Over these first three games, Antetokounmpo has averaged over 38 points, nearly 10 rebounds, five assists and 2.7 steals. It’s only early but it’s clear that this young man is on a mission and his Bucks are 2-1 as a result.
Check out some highlights below of Giannis’ first three games.
I’ll leave it Giannis himself to have the last say, much like Portland did today.
