Gerald Henderson remains a Bobcat

The Charlotte Bobcats have re-signed shooting guard Gerald Henderson to a three-year, $18 million deal according to Yahoo! Sports. The third year is said to be include a player option, meaning “Hendo” can walk after the 2014/15 season if he chooses. (and if we want to sound cynical)

The 12th overall pick in the 2009 NBA draft by the Bobcats, Henderson averaged 15.5 points per game last season, second best on the team. Henderson finished the 2012-13 season playing the best basketball of his professional career, averaging 23.9 points over the final 23 games while shooting 48 percent from the field. –

There hasn’t been a great deal of positive Charlotte Bobcat news over the off-season, other than their decision to claim the vacant Hornet name. Losing Byron Mullens to the Los Angeles Clippers was a tough blow, countered by the signing of Al Jefferson. This signing is most certainly a step in the right direction for Charlotte, who is a combined 62-168 (.269) over the past three seasons.

While the road has been tough, Henderson has provided some nice highlights that even Laker fans can enjoy:

But for a more general look at Hendo’s contributions, look no further than this fan created video from 7he Heart Breakers:

Bobcat fans can look forward to at least another two years of this.
