Derrick Rose – MRI Bound

Derrick Rose injured his right knee in a non-contact play during his Chicago Bulls’ 95-98 loss to the Portland Trailblazers on Friday night. The former league MVP hobbled off the floor in the third quarter and was helped to the locker room. After the game, Rose could be seen making his way to the team bus on crutches.

Aside from the predictable smattering of tasteless social media jokes, it’s safe to say that all basketball fans are nervously waiting to hear what Rose’s MRI results indicate. It would be heartbreaking for fans to see Rose face another extended lay off, let alone how the man himself would handle it.

At the time of this post, most of the United States will be sleeping. Here’s hoping there’s some not-so-bad news in the morning, hoops fans.
