Jordan Files #13 – “No Question”

Michael Jordan held a very entertaining Q & A session on Saturday Night in Santa Barbara at his 20th Annual Basketball Camp - Michael Jordan Flight School. MJ answered a heap of questions, ranging from athletes he'd like to sign to the Jumpman label, to addressing Shaquille O'Neal's recent "all-time Bulls vs. all-time Lakers" comments. Jordan was even asked what advice he'd currently give to Kobe Bryant, which created a fun little stir. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SRvNz2TdAPM   Jordan's best answer though came when he was asked if in his prime he could beat...

Jordan Files #12 – Double Nickel

If you're a basketball fan over the age of 30 there's probably no chance you haven't seen this moment in Michael Jordan history. This edition of the Jordan Files is most certainly written especially for our younger audience members. Michael Jordan, only five games into a return from an 18-month basketball retirement, throat-punches the New York Knicks to the tune of 55 points at Madison Square Garden. Things like this should not have been possible but they happened, in 1995. Yep, not you're regular day of NBA action. Tune in...

Jordan Files #11 – Can’t Win Them All

When it comes to the career of Michael Jordan, there's plenty of good to with a very small amount of bad and/or ugly. Well, this little nugget of YouTube gold definitely belongs in the third category. Participating in the 1990 NBA Three Point Shoot-Out, Michael Jordan gets completely dominated by then teammate Craig Hodges. [embedvideo id="np8fV-T_M0s" website="youtube"] As the saying goes, "you can't win them all". Mike's career panned out pretty well though, overall. (via MerkinMuffly) Follow @HendoHoops // ...

Jordan Files #10 – Beat The Heat

The NBA wasn't always a playground for the Miami Heat, and like all franchises they did indeed have to be "first-timers" to the playoffs at some stage. It was 1992 for the Heaters, where they first got a taste of NBA playoff action. And Michael Jordan and Co. were there to welcome them. Check out this video of Game 3 of the 1992 first round. Miami is hosting their first ever playoff game and at this point trailed Jordan's Bulls by two games to nil. [embedvideo id="N5sHdmQahNk" website="youtube"] Needless to say, MJ...

Jordan Files #9 – Silverdome 59

Jordan Files #8 – Cavalier Killer

Considering the city of Cleveland is so jubilant right now with the return of LeBron James, we figure we can sneak in a little Cavalier killing by Michael Jordan. Most basketball fans have seen the Chicago-based Jordan game winners against Cleveland, especially this one. The Washington Wizard editions however are more likely to have passed you by. Jordan the Wizard, taking care of Cleveland business. [embedvideo id="TedECz7dyS8" website="youtube"] Just another day at the office for the great one. Unfortunately just another heartbreaking day at the office for Cavs fans too. (via youutoobe) Follow @HendoHoops // ...

Jordan Files #7 – Airwaves

Now here's an interesting piece of footage, kindly uploaded to YouTube by Rich Cutter. Michael Jordan and local sports personality Jim Rose host "Michael Jordan's Airwaves". There's so much in here to think about when you consider today's NBA and the social media scrutiny that comes with it. Firstly, Mike would have been brutally lambasted for that hairline. Listen in to Jordan's thoughts on the upcoming season and the signing of brand new head coach Phil Jackson as well as Bill Cartwright's inability to catch the ball. Also of note,...

Jordan Files #6 – MJ Drops 42 on the Spurs

The Jordan Files continue with a nice little upload from Hoopsencyclopedia showing some highlights (and lowlights) of 1993 Michael Jordan taking it to the San Antonio Spurs. It's not all smooth sailing for the current GOAT but like they say, the cream eventually rises to the top...

Jordan Files #5 – vs. Kobe 1998 ASG

It just wouldn't be the Jordan Files without a dual with Kobe Bryant. While Jordan is still considered the greatest of all-time, there's no doubt a few (deluded) fans actually put Kobe at the top of the heap. While it's truly impossible to compare players from (even partially) different eras, this is a fun video for all who enjoy this "debate". The 1998 NBA All Star Game was a fun one and it featured an undertone of MJ vs. Kobe. [embedvideo id="qRAs5Ju3j7k" website="youtube"] Sit back, relax and enjoy a...

Jordan Files #4 – MJ Drafted

This video really rams home how far Michael Jordan progressed with his media demeanor over the course of his NBA career. A young, fresh-faced Jordan answers questions after being drafted third by the Chicago Bulls in the 1984 draft and let's just say he sounds very eager to please. Enjoy this old school addition to the Jordan Files. [embedvideo id="WgZQsI41eAA" website="youtube"] (via AirJordanLegend) Follow @hoopdiary// ...
