After the frenzy of signings and trades yesterday (Gerald Wallace and Joe Johnson) combined with today’s news (Deron Williams commitment and the news they might still acquire Dwight Howard), Nets owner Mikhail Prokhorov appears to be making good on his commitments.
Upon buying the team the Russian oligarch promised to move the team to Brooklyn and return the team to prominence. Stage one has happened and two is happening faster than many anticipated. If the Nets can indeed swing a Howard trade with Orlando (offering a combo of MarShon Brooks, Kris Humphries, Brook Lopez and cap filler) then the Nets not only replace the Knicks as the most star studded team in New York, but arguably Miami in the entire NBA.
The coming season is shaping up to be interesting either way.
