In yet another twist in the Dwight Howard saga, it seems the man they call “Superman” wants to shift residence to Brooklyn after all. Sources claim Howard met with new Orlando Magic general manager Rob Hennigan on Friday to demand the trade. This should come as no surprise to NBA followers, as Howard’s “yo-yo” style of negotiation has made him look just awful over the past 12 months.
Can you imagine the fallout if LeBron James had treated Cleveland the way Dwight has treated the city of Orlando?
Further to this, Howard is now claiming to have been blackmailed by the Orlando Magic into signing his opt-in clause in mid-March this year. Every time this story changes it gets weirder and weirder, as seen in April and many other times over the past 12 months.
So keep an eye out for all the names Dwight will be called over the coming days/weeks, as his Superman moniker lends itself to clever sledging opportunities.
For a guy who was once considered one of the league’s most popular, it now seems he has overtaken LeBron James for the title of “most hated” in the NBA. While I don’t condone personally “hating” players, Dwight’s left a large portion of the NBA community with no choice but to frown upon the seven-footer regarding this series of events.
Is Dwight Howard Brooklyn bound? Meh, who cares anymore?
